Course Overview
What is Cinema 4D?
Maxon Cinema 4D is powerful and comprehensive 3D modeling Application. It is well known for its easily accessible interface design, Motion Graphics and MoGraph features which make 3D learning an effortless experience. Cinema 4D is fully equipped with the in-depth 3D modules as Polygon modeling, NURBS, SubD modeling, Materials & Shading, Animation, Texturing, Lighting, Rendering, MoGraph and more.
The software is shipped with XPresso, a node based internal programming language of Cinema 4D, that enables to program and create user-defined features. XPresso, being a node based programming language, it works as a visual alternative to the traditional text-based language model. Commands and Objects are set in a visual form, through which the input and output data flow can be easily perceived without confusion. Node based programming is considered comparatively easy for beginners to understand.
Another important feature of Cinema 4D is its MoGraph module. It is widely popular because of the ease it provides the user to create complex animations in few simple and easy steps. MoGraph animations can be created by using basic objects and combining them in various interesting methods. As users are habituated with the MoGraph animation style, they will be surprised to see the endless possibilities it provides you to create unique animations.
The software provides endless possibilities to take your imagination to the next level. With Cinema 4D, no matter how complex is your idea, it can be brought to life easily.
About Comprehensive Cinema 4D Training
This course, “Comprehensive Cinema 4D Training” provides detailed information about every module of Cinema 4D. The aim is to equip beginners with optimum information about the 3D technology before we take you into the software based training. Though, our focus in oriented towards fresher level, the Cinema 4D Training will also help the medium level learners.
We start with the very foundation topics that introduce you to the world of Three Dimension domain, later we carry on to and explore the interface and move across the important corners of the software to give you a brief understanding and help you to navigate easily within the interface. Users will come to know the list of hot keys, default primitives within the software, render window settings and easy methods to manage the view ports.
From here, we will start to explore every module of Cinema 4D one by one in length. We will start with the Modeling, which again has different types of modeling styles and techniques.
-
Spline modeling
Splines are the basic elements which help to create and work on the NURBS objects. In this part of the tutorial, you are introduced to the basics of Spline modeling and start to explore various modeling techniques using curves. You will learn about different Spline types that come by default in the menu.
-
Deformers
Deformers make the job easy for Animators by quickly achieving the results they intend to have. In this section of the tutorial, you will learn about various kinds of Deformers in Cinema 4D. You will observe how deformers are applied to the geometry and manipulated. Another important point is to edit the deformer size, strength and control the primitives with the curvature. Few of the many deformers discussed in the chapter are the bend, shear and twist deformers.
-
Modeling Objects
In this chapter, you are introduced to the primitive modeling objects that come by default with Cinema 4D. These modeling objects play a vital role in creating every 3D Geometric object.
-
Polygon Modeling
Polygon Modeling is by far the most important part of modeling in every 3D software. Technically, topology created in Polygon modeling is considered more suitable for animations and games. During these lectures, we will introduce you to the components of a Polygon model. We further discuss in-depth about the Vertex, Edge, and Polygon Faces.
Later we explore various techniques of Polygon modeling and finally create a base mesh model using the polygonal modeling techniques.
-
Material Editor
Now that you are already aware of Modeling, it is time to apply a material on your base model. Here, we will introduce you to the Material channels and discuss the base materials available in Cinema 4D. We will take you through the numerous editing options apart from the two default channels Color and Specular. You will learn how to add, tweak and edit additional material channels that give more realistic look you intend to have.
-
Unwrapping
In this section, we will discuss the process of Unwrapping a 3D object and preparing it for texture mapping. We will take you through the methods of extracting the UVW layouts from a base model and unwrapping them in Cinema 4D UVW edit. The section is comprised of two example exercises to share practical knowledge about how UVW maps are unwrapped and created.
-
Lighting
Here you will come to know about various types of Lights and Light settings in Cinema 4D. We will discuss about the common features of lighting and take you through the advanced levels of settings to control the lighting in your Scene. In the advanced topics, we will talk about creating Indoor and Outdoor atmosphere with lighting in Cinema 4D.
-
Camera
This part of the tutorial will talk about the Camera, Settings, tips, and tricks to easily animate Camera in Cinema 4D.
-
Animation
In this chapter, we will take you through the Animation module of Cinema 4D, discuss the key terms of Animation. We dive deep from the basic concepts of Animation as a timeline and talk about keyframing, curve editing and additional features to create a seamless animation.
-
MoGraph
It is one of the powerful features that makes Cinema 4D a unique product from other 3D software tools. In this part of the tutorial, you are introduced to animations ideas through MoGraph. We will show you how to create animations by combining objects together in unique and interesting methods.
-
Rendering
Cinema 4D has a powerful render engine that helps the user achieve realistic and non-realistic types render effects they like. Here, we will take you through the render setting window and discuss the various tabs in length. We will also show you how to gain control over multiple passes while rendering. The lecture will help you understand how render engine works and how to tune it to attain the right output.
