Fast Moving Consumer Goods Sector is another fast growing sector in India thus, making fourth largest sector in the economy. As per 2012 data, the market size of this sector is more than USD 13.1 Billion. FMCG goods are sold in retail markets as per the demand of the customer. These goods are required daily by consumers and hence are sold quickly. Examples of FMCG products include Food products, beverages, cosmetics, toiletries, stationary etc. This sector has strong presence of MNC’s. Johnson & Johnson, HUL, Colgate-Palmolive, P&G are some of the global players in the FMCG market.Indian players in FMCG sector include Dabur, Emami, Marico, Godrej Consumer.
For our Equity Research course we have selected Dabur. It is the fourth largest FMCG Company in India with revenues of over Rs. 6,146 Crore & it has market capitalization of USD 5 Billion. Dabur operates in Health Care, Skin Care, Hair Care etc.
