Section 1: Introduction to Accounting

• Accounting for Income Statement– Through this tutorial on understanding the accounting for income statement using the Kartik case study we will learn about the meaning of income statement and various jargons/terms associated with income statement. Next we will see when revenue is recognized and its accounting effect consequently. Similarly we would see when expense is recognized, when Interest expense is recognized and its accounting effect. Lastly we would learn how to prepare the consolidated income statement.
• Accounting for Balance sheet– In this video we are going to understand the meaning of balance sheet and terms associated with balance sheet.
