Strengths
This includes positive traits of yourself as a person. They can be tangible or intangible qualities that are entirely under your control. They can be your personality traits,
Weakness
This includes negative traits in yourself which prevent you from offering your best to others. This portion gives you a competitive disadvantage. It is something you want to demolish. You do not wish to disclose your weakness to others except those incredibly near you. It would help to enhance this particular portion to achieve your goals quickly. Overcoming your weakness also gives you a competitive edge.

- What factors are responsible for your weak spots?
- Are any particular incidents responsible for your weak areas?

Opportunity
One should analyze the external environment, which often reveals options for growth and profit. This area requires you to look for positive factors in the external environment. It includes places where you can prosper well in life and your career.

- What opportunities exist in the outside environment from which you can benefit?
- Is your perception of your society positive?
- Has the latest market growth created new areas of opportunity for you?
Threats
These include external factors that can risk your career or life. The threats are beyond your control. Hence, you should have a contingency plan to tackle them as they occur.
Some of the common questions in this stage are-
- What are the challenges that you may be facing?
- Are there any distractions that may prevent you from achieving your goal?
- What are the contingency plans in case of hostile situations?

Additionally, professionals such as therapists, counselors, and helplines can provide guidance and assistance. Remember, seeking support is a sign of strength.
The essence of any PDP is to create tangible goals for creating a developmental activity plan. Purposes should be practical and attainable, and Goals will help you identify activities that would ensure that your current actions follow your long-term goals.
Always keep the following acronym in mind while setting your goals-
SMART
Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-Bound.
It means goals should have the following characteristics-
Specific
It is vital to set particular goals. Try narrowing down your goals and only write down goals that would satisfy your developmental needs. Be sure to stick your dreams to the point. The plan should provide answers to questions like “Who is involved” “What exactly do I want to achieve” “Why is it necessary to attain the goal” and so on.
Measurable
The goals should have solid criteria for measuring the progress rate. By measuring the plans, you can track your performance, reach your goals quickly, and continuously strive towards goal achievement.
Achievable
When you are fixing your goals, you should know the ways you must follow to lead you to your ultimate goals. Dreams slowly become attainable and easy to achieve, not because the so-called goals shrink but because you expand and grow to match them. Once you set your goals, you chalk down practical methods to fulfill the purpose.
Realistic
The goal should be clear and easy to achieve. It should be practical and possible to accomplish with demonstrated hard work and dedication. A high goal is usually convenient to perform as it needs a high motivational factor.
Time Bound
A goal should always have some specified time frame within which you must fulfill it. Without a time limit, there is no urgency. As a result, there are high chances of failure to attain the goal. Hence, maintain time boundaries and regularly check efforts toward the set goals.
So, get up, take a pen and a white sheet. Be ready to brainstorm and then develop your own Personal Development Plan. Remember to have fun in the process of making yourself a better person.
