Personality Test for Jobs
Happiness is a combination of various variables working together to reach its optimum stage. Thus if you would like to find happiness in your work, you don’t only need to look at the job you do. Rather, you need to first look at yourself. A personality test can help you discover what job is suitable for you. In this article, your job is just to read, take notes and jot down ideas that you get while reading. This article will be divided into two segments. First, we will call “YOU” to explore your possibilities and impediments. Here we undertake the personality test to look at what you like, what you dislike and what environment suits you best.
In the next segment, we will discuss the “JOB” where we will explore jobs that you do and how to approach your jobs (even the worst ones) to have fulfillment.

Whether you love your job or simply do because you need to pay bills and survive, you must read this article. A major part of your days is spent in the office or with colleagues whom you work with. If you do the math, you would see 10 hours of your day are invested into your work. That means, in larger terms, if you live till 80 years and start your work from the 20th year, you will spend 25 years working (assuming you don’t retire at 60). Now, can you see why it’s important to know the key ingredients of happiness at work? If you realize this, invest half an hour reading this and articulate the ideas you get.
Let’s begin transforming a boring, insignificant YOU into a vibrant, exuberant YOU with the help of this personality test below.
YOU – Defined
Great Tao Philosopher Alan Watts mentioned that if you would like to define yourself, it’s like trying to bite your teeth. Yes, it’s impossible to know everything about yourself. But by exploring and ruminating about your past actions, behaviors, experiences, and feedback, you can get to a point where you would see that there are half a dozen of things that make you happy. Another half a dozen put yourself off-track.
In this section, we will explore these half a dozen things that can turn you on or off.
You may be wondering where the personality test questions are when the name of the article is such. Here it comes. We will use a psychological tool called Graphology which will help us understand what works best and what doesn’t for us through this psychology test
Following are the 6 separate areas that are either helping you to choose happiness or acting as impediments to achieving optimum satisfaction at work.
Before going into detail, you need to do a thing.
Take a blank sheet of paper and write down anything that comes to your mind. You must fill in the full page, use a dot pen, and write in English.

And graphology will come to aid to help you understand yourself better.
- Past: Most of us are horrified about our past. Maybe your past experiences and attachments to those experiences and people impede your current happiness at work. Maybe you are selling yourself short again and again and not being able to improve the situation. Now how would you understand that this is a hindrance to your growth as a person and your internal happiness? As mentioned before hope you have written down a page in your own handwriting. Let’s look at that and let’s find out. Look at the left margin. Is it closer to the left side of the page? The closer it is to the left more attached you are to your past, which is of course, not an ideal situation. If you happen to see this in your handwriting, think about any two significant past events which bother you now and start to work on them. You can also go for a character test to help you evaluate your dream plans.
- Future: The future is something you don’t have yet. That doesn’t mean you don’t see it in your mind. You see it, replay it again and again, imagine something horrendous, and get anxious. How to understand that from your handwriting? Take the sheet of your own writing and come to the right side of it. How did you end every line before going to the next line? Is there a gap between the end of your sentence in one line and the right edge of the paper? If there is a significant gap, you are afraid of your future, taking any new opportunity and going for any risky endeavor (even calculated ones). If the right margin is crashing on the right edge, you also need to be aware – because that means you are accident-prone and take too much risk than required. The best way to get rid of this is to receive grapho-therapy from a certified Graphologist. But to know about yourself now, you can just look at your right margin and think and jot down ideas that come to your mind.
- Goals: Many people write on the paper as if it’s printed, and many write as if a big river is flowing upper and lower. If your writing is significantly straighter, you have a goal about your life and career, and that’s good news. Having goals sets you apart from the 90% of the population who don’t set goals and never achieve their full potential. But if you have the tendency to write hesitantly on paper and your writing flows upper and lower, you need to take care. How would you change that? Simply go deep and ask yourself what you would like to do that will make you the happiest. It’s not always easy to find it in a go. Take some time, reflect and then come up with a few answers and then decide what you would like to do in your career and take the career personality test. Being happy at work is often a choice. People who like to be happy take the time to examine themselves, and people who don’t only give excuses that they don’t have enough time and resources to pursue what they want to.
- Introverted/Extraverted: Everyone doesn’t love to speak in front of the public. It’s not that they can’t, but they don’t feel fulfilled doing it. They may like to become wordsmiths who craft words to change the course of the lives of people around the world. How would you know which side you are in? Do you love to lead/accept challenges/hate repetitions/feel threatened in a closed environment? Or do you feel satisfied sitting in front of a computer and analyzing data/do repetitive work processes/love to work in a corner? No matter who you are, you can discover that by looking into your handwriting. You need to look at the size of the “o” in your handwriting. The bigger it is, the more extroverted you are. The smaller it is, the more introverted you are. Graphology is a tool that deals with the whole person rather than a small part of it. But under the smaller scope of this article, you would be able to know your personality trend by looking at the circle size in the letter “o”. If you have smaller-sized circles, jobs like accountant, data analyzer, and writer will suit you best. If you have bigger-sized circles, sales, public speaking, marketing, and consulting jobs will be ideal. You can also try an online personality test or type the best personality test to get a glimpse of your career plan.
- Friendliness – the ability to work in a team: Graphology is an empirical science that deals with human beings in much greater detail. Happiness can be found if people work in sync with who they are; rather than trying to change a major chunk of them. If your writing is straight, like the words you are reading here (called “vertical slant”), then you are very logical and less friendly. You have issues mingling with people. You better find a job that doesn’t need much interaction with people. If your writing is like this – “My writing is like this”- then you are very much friendly with others and can easily work in a team. There is another variable. Your handwriting may tend toward the left side, which is the opposite of the previous variable (opposite of italics). Then you need attention because your submissive nature is not letting your full potential come out of you. As mentioned before, you need to look into yourself more than the job you do to find happiness within your work. You can try it out various types of personality tests to help you evaluate yourself.
- Drive: This is often a less emphasized concept discussed in pursuit of happiness in work. Few people feel the drive without anything being changed, and they move mountains with their self-motivation. But most people need a nudge or two to begin working at their highest level. How will graphology help you find it? Do you begin a, t, h, f, l, g, i, o, y with an extra node in the beginning? If you do find a beginning node in the above letters, you need a nudge or someone to tell you to do things you are responsible for doing. But if you begin without any node, congratulations, you are a self-starter.
Examine your handwriting with the above 6 key areas and find out 1-2 areas that need immediate attention. If you begin to heed them immediately, you will be able to course correct and find your mojo within the job you are presently doing. Here we get done with the personality types test or personality test quizzes. Next, let’s look forward to the Job.
JOB – Defined
You may not like your current job but don’t complain yet. There is something you need to pay heed to.
First of all, whatever job you have, it pays your bill and provides you and your family with basic needs like food, clothing, and shelter. Thus, it’s important for you now. So what should you do?
Be grateful.
- Even if you know that this job is worst of a kind, you need to feel wonderful because at least you have a job. You are not unemployed, and you are not dreading searching for employment like millions of other people.

- Being grateful for what you have is the beginning of finding happiness in work.
- Even if your job makes you stick in the first rung of Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs, start from there.
- In the previous section, you’ve got to know yourself better. Spend some time more to find out what job offers you maximum satisfaction. It may be writing/accounting/teaching/sales/public relations/leadership. No matter what it is, you must gradually take steps toward it.
- Don’t stop yourself just searching for a job. You may also become self-employed if you love the autonomy of working for yourself and are ready to let go of the safety and security of a job.
- In the last hundred years, the concept of a job was born. After the industrial revolution, people were needed in factories, and factories needed people to do certain jobs. So the concept of jobs began. Before the industrial revolution, people were not searching for jobs. Because there were no jobs! That doesn’t mean there was no employment. People loved to work for themselves and had the skills to be self-sufficient.
- The famous ancient philosopher Epicurus talked about 3 keys of happiness which is equally relevant to the work we do.
They are as follows as they seem relevant to the work you do or would like to do.
- Self-sufficiency: Epicurus said people should find their own means of putting food on the table. They should be autonomous and have the skills to support themselves. You may not agree with Epicurus and find a job that means something to you.
- An analyzed life: Humans are different than animals. They can think. Without thinking about anything, even doing a job is as boring as it can be. Epicurus remarked that being happy at work and in life needs regular review or analysis of the current scenario. This whole article is based on that. We will just want you to think about what brings you happiness. Only you can do that, no one else will be able to help you.
Hint – To analyze properly, you need a tool or two. The best way to live an analyzed life is to maintain a journal. Write all your thoughts, reflections, and ponderous ideas, and then review every now and then.

- Friends: In life as well as in work, people need friends. If you talk about the third rung of Hierarchy Needs provided by Maslow, we would see that Maslow talked about the same. He talked about self-esteem needs, where people need to feel appreciated, respected, and belong to something. Only friends and colleagues can offer that sense of belongingness.
Base your work and life on the basis of the above 3 key ingredients and find a job that serves you better.
Happiness is a very relative term that varies from person to person. You need to find what works best for you. The articles, books, audios, courses can only direct your path. But you need to travel. You need to make your mark. You need to choose happiness in work and, most importantly, within yourself.
