Here you’d find the Bade Hanuman Mandir in Bargad Ghat, near the Allahabad Fort and sacred to the natives of this city. There is a huge statue of hanuman ji inside in a leaning position. The best part about this place is that the visitors have to visit the underground for darshan. The red building of this mandir has engravings all over, and visitors get a nice view of a nearby pond.
#3 Triveni Sangam
Triveni Sangam is a Hindi translation of “Merger of Three.” It is a holy place where three rivers meet – Yamuna, Sarasvati, and Ganga. #4 Iskon Temple
Lord Krishna has Iskon Temples all over the world. One of the gorgeous tourist places in Prayagraj, this is where you’d see thousands of tourists every year. The temple is near the Baluaghat water tank and looks serene with farmland and deity idols. There is a gift shop to take home souvenirs and plenty of guest houses for those who want to stay overnight. Apart from that, the Iskon Temple of Prayagraj also has a nice garden and a Mahaprasad counter from where you can seek the blessings of Krishan Ji.
#5 Akshaya Vat
The Allahabad fort has a Patalpuri temple, and once you go inside, you’ll come across Akshaya Vat. It is a sacred ancient fig tree. Those who have listened to or watched Ramayana would be familiar with this tree. Many devotees worship the tree during Kumbh Mela. It is only open to the public during that time.
#6 Alopi Devi Temple
Alopi Devi Temple has a wooden chariot instead of gods and goddess statues. It is one of the unique tourist places in Prayagraj. Plenty of devotees who believe in and worship Lord Shiva come here to pay their respects. The chariot’s name is doliê, and it has a special mythological story. The mandir is home to the last body parts of Goddess Sati, and that’s why it is also known as the Shakti Peethas in India. The majority of the crowd visits on Tuesdays here.
#7 Khusro Bagh
Khusro Bagh was a burial complex and is now converted into a Mughal Garden. Situated close to the Allahabad railway station, the place has three mausoleums made of sandstones. They pay tribute to several royals of the Mughal Dynasty, including Nithar Begum, Shah Begum, and Khusrau Mirza. They were all related to Jahangir, son of Akbar. Khusro Bagh has three tombs and looks similar to Fatehpur Sikri with traditional motifs, chhatris, and Arabic inscriptions.
#8 Jawahar Planetarium
Jawahar Planetarium was set in 1979 near the Anand Bhawan and displayed the perfect amalgamation of history and science. One of the intellectual tourist places in Prayagraj, this planetarium hosts a yearly memorial lecture. Apart from that, plenty of shows organize to display space and solar system beauty.
