Introduction to Matlab
Matlab is a programming language similar to other well-known languages such as Java, C#, etc., with its own IDE (Integrated Development Environment) and set of libraries. Matlab is an abbreviation of “Matrix Laboratory” since it was initially referred to as the matrix programming language. It is a fourth-generation programming language. Cleve Moler, the Computer Science department Chairman at the University of New Mexico, first discovered it. Later in 1984, Cleve Molar, Steve Bangart, and Jack Little, who recognized Matlab’s commercial potential, founded MathWorks. MathWorks released its first official version of Matlab in 1984.
